PalmerSport is the leading operator of prestige corporate motorsport events and owns and operates the Bedford Autodrome circuit complex. As we look ahead to a busy 2024 season, we are looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to work on a full-time permanent basis on our high performance fleet.

The fabricator role at PalmerSport serves the demands of our fleet of high-performance corporate sports cars and site vehicles, as well as the requirements of the MotorSport Vision group.  The successful candidate will be based at Bedford Autodrome and will contribute to the efficient operation of the department and be required to work closely with members of staff in other departments to effectively complete tasks.

Job duties will involve:

• Creating and modifying bespoke components on our fleet of race engineered cars to specification
• Completing bodywork and chassis repairs via MIG / TIG welding
• Using various tools including guillotines, lathes, bending and cutting equipment
• Produce components to engineering drawings
• Working with our team of mechanics to ensure vehicles are prepared to the highest standard ahead of cooperate event days
• Maintain a tidy and organised fabrication shop
• Meeting strict time deadlines in accordance to our busy event schedule

The successful candidate will be organised and conscientious, with the ability to use initiative and communication to solve problems. Previous motorsport experience is not essential, although MIG & TIG welding experience in light gauge steel and aluminium is required. 

This role will involve working 42.5 hours a week Monday – Friday within our workshop at Bedford Autodrome. Occasional weekend working may be required during our event season (April – November). Due to the location of PalmerSport, a full UK driving licence is required.
