The Children’s Family Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapist / Clinical Psychologist specialising in complex trauma and trauma informed approaches to join our team.

This position is integral to the implementation of trauma informed practices across the Children’s Family Trust in alignment with our plans and vision.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in initially conducting an organisational assessment, providing supervisions, offering clinical consultations, delivering training, developing group interventions and monitoring the progress of trauma informed initiatives.

The role will involve some travel to our regional offices located in Bishop Auckland, Wakefield, Bromsgrove and Waterlooville).


In order to be successful in this role you will need
  • Degree in Clinical Psychology or related field
  • Registered as a Clinical Psychologist or Psychotherapist
  • Extensive experience of working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, preferably within a foster care or child welfare setting
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed principles, practices and interventions with a demonstrated ability to apply them in various contexts
  • Experience providing supervision and consultation to multidisciplinary teams and/or caregivers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in trauma informed practice
  • This is a national position and will require the postholder to be able work away from home regularly and have a driving license
  • Ability to interpret and present complex data
  • Documentation and Record Keeping, proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential records.
