Junior PHP / SQL Developer

An established commercial specialist selling globally with offices across Europe and America seek a junior PHP / SQL Developer to work within a team, develop their intranet and website skills to deliver high quality sites, and SQL based reports.

Lots of opportunity to grow and develop; receiving internal and external training and to potentially travel to other sites. Ideally you'll have a year's experience or you'll be a grad with a portfolio of recently developed websites (ecommerce sites possibly) developed in PHP with some knowledge of MySQL or SQL Server.

Essential Skills:
· PHP and/or VB.net
· Good SQL querying skills (MySQL or SQL Server)
· HTML/JavaScript/CSS/AJAX
· 'A' level standard in maths or Grad in IT / related studies
· Must be able to demonstrate previous projects carried out using PHP/SQL (or VB.net/MS SQL or MySQL)
· There will be a 2nd interview which would be technical and may involve a mini-project

Some of the Desirable Skills:
· JQuery or other JavaScript frameworks
· MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
· Data modelling, data management and data manipulation, code management and version control
· Ability to understand business requirements and create solutions that work within agreed technical designs and time frames
· Knowledge of PCs/Laptops and Windows O/S (Windows 7-10, 2008-2012)
· Networking knowledge (LANs, switches, Wifi)
· Excellent attention to detail and problem solving and analytical skills
· UK passport holder and full clean driving license are essential

Key responsibilities
· Program PHP-based Intranet sites, that connects to various MS SQL Server databases
· Develop and maintain appropriately scaled, repeatable solutions in MS SQL Server T-SQL, Reporting Services (SSRS) and related tools
· Integrate developed solutions with third party APIs using PHP and ASP.Net (Post Code lookup, Google analytics, Dotmailer, phone system and other legacy data sources
· Coordinate and manage change/support requests from business teams, via the in-house helpdesk system
· Provide support for developed solutions including analysis and resolution. Own the support tasks through to resolution
· Provide general IT support in the areas of hardware, software, and business applications/resources
· Document and share technical knowledge to improve support and future developments
· Create and maintain great working relationships with IT and business teams at all levels
