My client is looking for a Principal Procurement Specialist to work within the Procurement Function, to provide additional support to the Procurement Team in carrying out business as usual activities, and also to support the Procurement Team Lead in the execution of various initiatives to facilitate the integration of a new project. Ideally the individual will have knowledge of the space industry and space procurement but this is not essential.

DUTIES:

Lead and support complex electronic and mechanical procurement activities.
Establish appropriate external suppliers to support procurement activities.
Procurement of parts, materials and services as required by the business.
Provide support and good practice through the procurement phase of projects and bids and proposals. Working in a cross functional environment, including Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Parts, Materials and Processes and Business Development.
Develop and maintain strong relationships between my client and key suppliers.
Provide support to subcontract procurement activities.
Day to day ownership of key supplier and supply activities.
Ensuring that my clients contractual processes are adhered to.
Ensure that Supplier contractual obligations are met.
Support project reviews with project team, customers and subcontractors.
Compliance to the company's Quality Management System. (QMS).
Compliance to the company's Health and safety Policy.
Activities as usually found in a Procurement function.
